Vitamin K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin found to complete calcium regulation in the body. It ensures calcium actually enters into the bones and teeth. Modern diet lacks an adequate amount of the natural, bioactive Vitamin K2.

Q What is vitamin K2?
-Vitamin K2 is one of the K vitamins, a group of fat soluble vitamins often neglected despite their importance. Vitamin K2 also known as menaquinone (MK), is naturally found in abundance in a Japanese delicacy called natto. The modern diet is most deficient of menaquinone-7 (MK-7), the bioactive form of vitamin K2. MK-7 plays an important role in bone building by regulating calcium in our body. MenaQ7® is the first and clinically proven natural vitamin K2 in the form of MK-7.



Q How does combining calcium, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 in a tablet work?
-Calcium that we consume is absorbed into the bloodstream with the help of vitamin D. Once in the bloodstream, calcium is ushered to the bones and teeth via the actions of specific proteins called osteocalcin and Matrix GLA protein (MGP). Osteocalcin brings calcium into the bones whereas MGP keeps calcium away from soft tissues such as our blood vessels. However, these proteins depend on vitamin K2 for activation before they can actively regulate calcium to build bones.



Q What happens if vitamin K2 is not consumed in the diet or taken as a supplement?
-Without vitamin K2, calcium that is absorbed into the bloodstream tends to deposit in soft tissues especially the blood vessels. Over time, accumulation of these hard calcium deposits causes the blood vessels to lose flexibility and elasticity and thus increases risk of heart diseases.
