Latin Name：Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) 

English Name：Radix astragali，astragalus root，milkvetch root.

Family & Genus：Fabaceae（Leguminosae），Astragalus.

Pharmacology：Influential on immune system，body metabolization，hematopoietic function & cardiovascular system，anti-viral，anti-cancer.

Properties：Sweet taste. Warm in nature.

*TCM views cough, sore throat, cold and flu and sinusitis as caused by wind pathogen invading the “exterior” of the body, together with either cold or heat. The “exterior” includes skin, muscles, nose, mouth and upper respiratory tract. The nose and mouth are obvious openings where a pathogen can enter, pores are also tiny openings in the body’s exterior. 


Wind-cold and Wind-heat can also enter the skin via open pores, consolidate exterior can be help to prevent common cold and flu, also it's important to protect ourselves from wind, heat and cold invasion while you sleep.


**This refers to profuse sweating over the entire body which is not due to exertion, hot surroundings, heavy clothing or medication. TCM calls this “spontaneous sweating”, and sees it as a disharmony weakening protective qi, making it unable to regulate the external body, and manage the sweat pores. People with excessive sweating are likely to develop skin-fold rashes, folliculitis, prickly heat and boils on the body.


Preparation：

·1 sachets tea bag each time. One or twice daily. 

·Steep a tea bag in 200ml boiled water for 10 minutes. 

·Each tea bag may rebrewed 2-3 times，or until light taste.

*“表”是身体表层，并且分为“风寒表证”与“风热表证”。每当天气变化，有者很易感冒，此为“表虚不固”，“固表”就是巩固肌表正气，加强防护功能，防御风、寒、暑、湿、燥及热，并且有助预防感冒。


**表虚自汗 = 体虚表弱所致的自汗。


***“中气”= 脾胃之气，而“中气下陷”即是脾气虚，导致内脏松弛下垂的病证，例如脱肛，胃下垂，子宫下坠等，而黄芪可补中益气，升举中气之力，回复脏腑正常体位。


用法：

·每次一包茶袋，每日1包～2包。

·将茶袋浸泡于200毫升沸水，10分钟后即可饮用。

·每个茶袋可重复冲泡2-3次，或直至淡味为止。
