ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mariam Aisha Fatima is a Malaysia government King's scholar in Biotechnology Biomedicine. She completed her PhD from the University of Manchester, UK, MSc by research from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and BSc from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

She was also known as Christine C. Fernandez. Mariam has 15 years experience in higher education as an academic, researcher, manager, and mentor in Malaysia and the UK. She was a postdoctoral research associate at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology before serving as an associate professor and director of research at Management and Science University (MSU) where she was awarded the Staff Excellence President's Award of Recognition and Appreciation. Mariam's interest is in lifelong learning. She advocates for sustainable communities, cultural diversity, inclusivity and equity.
