肉骨茶是新马著名的地道佳肴，闻名于东南亚，也是新马人的骄傲。说来这人间美味，可是见证了南来的过番客的辛酸史。话说当时南移的华人来到南洋多以出卖劳力为生，生活相当辛苦，肉骨茶便是有位小饭用中医师配合了多种药材和南洋盛产的胡椒配以猪肉骨熬成的汤混合白饭便宜卖给苦力吃以增加他们的体力。经后人的改良和演变，加上生活逐渐优渥，肉骨茶以从供苦力饱肚的“粗茶淡饭”变成了民间的“上等菜”。


肉骨茶虽有茶字，却不是茶，它有几十种名贵中药材，所以它是道道地地的中药材排骨汤，再加上多种热带香料，很符合现代人的美味药膳，从营养角度来说，肉骨茶有去湿，旺血，补气润肺，滋补养颜的功效，男女皆宜的补品。


Soup Spices is a Chinese soup popularly served in Malaysia, Singapore and also enjoyed its fame in the Southeast Asia. It is introduced to Nanyang in the 19th century by Chinese workers from China provinces. Life was hard for these workers as they earn their livelihood by working as coolie. At the time, there was a pedlar invented Soup Spices, a meat ribs soup with the combination of Chinese herbs and pepper, and sold it to the coolie for boosting their stamina. Later with the change of living conditions, Soup Spices has gradually become a delicacy rather than just a simple fare.


SOUP SPICES - the name literally translates as "meat bone tea", and, at its simplest, consists of meaty meat ribs in a complex broth of herbs and spices. It is known for its healthy and beauty efficiency and it is said as a Chinese tonic for both men and women.
