兼毫、狼毫、羊毫的区别

狼毫：硬毫，弹性强。
羊毫 （白云）：软毫，弹性弱
兼毫：介于狼毫和羊毫之间的兼毫，弹性适中。

毛笔笔头的选择依照个人用笔的习性，书写字体或画国画各种用途之不同，可选择弹性较强的狼毫或者弹性适中的兼毫笔来进行练习。一般书法爱好者用笔选择大致如下：

1， 兼毫笔：适合于书写楷书、隶书、行书及花鸟画作。
2， 羊毫笔（白云）：适合于书写隶书、行书、草书及山水着色。
3， 狼毫笔：适合于书写行、草、以及四君子、山水之画作。

毛笔的日常使用与保养
一、 使用前：先沾饱冷水，再拭干，使笔毛外部形成一层保护膜，然后再蘸墨书写，如此不仅可防止墨汁中防腐剂侵蚀笔毛，也可以便于清洗。
二、 使用时：通常使用笔头的三分之一，如使用过度，将减短该毛笔的使用寿命。
三、 使用中：行笔暂停时，插在笔立中。
四、 使用后：最好在水龙头下，顺着水流方向，捏压笔毛，将余墨洗去，以卫生纸或毛巾尽量吸干水分，再轻轻打散笔毛，其后悬挂起来，使能通风；倘欲切实洗净，可于一刻钟后再将流聚笔尖的残墨洗清，如此更能确保清洁。如日日研磨书写（非使用市面购买墨汁），可含墨套入笔套，每二、三日清洗一次，但千万不要洗净后套入笔套，以免腐败、断毛。
五、 携带时：应用笔帘卷起，以保通风。
