Deskripsi Produk

Camphor is a waxy, flammable, transparent solid with a strong aroma. It is found in the wood of the camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora), a large evergreen tree found in Asia particularly in Sumatra and Borneo islands, Indonesia and also of the unrelated kapur tree, a tall timber tree from the same region.
It is used for its scent, as an ingredient in cooking mainly in India, as an embalming fluid, for medicinal purposes, and in religious ceremonies. A major source of camphor in Asia is camphor basil, the parent of African blue basil.
It is widely used in:-
1. Culinary
- In ancient and medieval Europe, Camphor was used as ingredient in sweets.
2. Modern Uses
- Active ingredient along with menthol in vapor-steam and decongestant products. Eg, Vicks VapoRub.
3. Pest deterrent and preservative
- Used as repellent to prevent damage by small insects.
- Kept in clothes, cupboard corners as cockroach repellent
 - Releases fumes that form a rust-preservative coating to protect tools against rust.
4. Perfumes
- Camphor was 1 of the most popular perfume ingredients.
5. Traditional Use
- Used in traditional medicine
 - Treat sprains, swellings and inflammation.
