What does a neutral density filter do?
ND Filters modify the intensity of wavelengths of light equally, providing a neutral color that reduces the amount of light entering the lens while decreasing camera shutter speed. In photography, the amount of light which reaches the sensor can be controlled by the ISO sensitivity, the aperture (f/stop) of the lens, and the shutter speed. There may be times when a necessary effect can be achieved only by using a lens at the wider apertures (for out of focus backgrounds for example). Using a Neutral Density filter can allow you to maintain a wider aperture by reducing the light reaching the sensor.

Choosing an ND Filter
Variable ND2 Fader Filter features a continuously variable neutral density filter between ND2 and ND2000 and provides a fader effect. Our ND Filters are made with pure optical glass, feature 16 layers of multicoating, and provide up to 99% light transmission. They are neutral with no color shift and are dyed in the mass glass. Features all metal slim rings that will not vignette on wide angle lenses, and are double threaded to accept other filters or accessories.
