  • For treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs. For reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease in cats. Dogs (5.1-20 KG): Fortekor 5mg tablets for dogs are a flavoured light brown tablet which is used to treat canine congestive heart failure in dogs weighing 5.1-20 KG. Each beige tablet contains 5mg of benazepril hydrochloride and is scored on both sides to help split them if the dose rate requires that they are split. Fortekor works by decreasing the blood pressure and volume load on your dog's heart by reducing the constriction of both arteries and veins. By cutting down this pressure the heart is able to function better to provide oxygen to the internal organs of your dog. Cats (2.5-10 KG): Fortekor 5mg tablets can also be used to treat chronic kidney disease in cats as it improves blood flow to the kidneys. Renal failure is very common in older cats. Fortekor works by reducing the protein loss in urine and lowers the blood pressure in cats. Fortekor has shown to greatly improve the quality of life and survival time of cats suffering with kidney disease.
