Fujifilm has released a new 400 Color Negative film, believed to be a replacement for the Superia X-TRA 400 film, which is now listed as discontinued.

Fujifilm 400 Color Negative is a high speed 35mm daylight balanced color negative film with wide exposure width and fine grain structure with consistent and accurate colors. The film meets the ISO 400 standard and is developed in the C-41 process.

With a nominal sensitivity of 400 ISO, this versatile film can serve many occasions in a wide range of lighting conditions. From sun-drenched vacation shots to flash-lit night scenes, this color film is designed to produce quality prints.

Currently, Fujifilm only showcases two styles in its consumer film section: the first is the Fujifilm 200, which was released in 2021, and the other is the Superia X-TRA 400. The Superia X-TRA 400 has been discontinued and is slowly disappearing from store shelves , despite the fact that Fujifilm itself has not officially announced the publication.

The similarities between the Superia X-TRA 400 and the new Fujifilm 400 — at least in terms of use — lends credence to the theory that the company is replacing one with the other. This should come as no surprise, as Fujifilm has done the same with other consumer film it offers, albeit in a more subtle way. The Fujifilm Fujicolor 200, which was originally released in 2019, had completely different specifications than the latest version, which was released in December 2021, and the packaging was also changed. A common theory is that it was simply a rebrand of Kodak Gold 400.

Over the past few years, Fujifilm has repeatedly released reports showing that it is having difficulty meeting demand for its various film stocks, so the switch from Superia X-TRA 400 to Fujifilm 400 may have been just the change it had to make in order to continue offering it at all. color film 400 ISO.
