Folic acid may be used for Folate-deficient megaloblastic anaemia and Prophylaxis of neural tube defect in pregnancy.





Direction for use:





Prophylaxis of neural tube defect in pregnancy





Adult: 5 mg daily starting 4 weeks before pregnancy and continued through the 1st trimester.











Folate-deficient megaloblastic anaemia





Adult: 5 mg daily for up to 4 months. May increase to 15 mg daily in malabsorption states. Maintenance: 5mg every 1-7 days.
