SILICA GEL CRYSTALS FOR FLOWERS & ARTS
1.Determine the flowers you would like to dry. Be sure that the petals are free from liquid water
2.Place a layer of Silica Gel Crystal in the bottom of an air-tight container. Make sure the layer is at least 2.5cm deep, or otherwise deep enough to hold the flower stems
3.The flower heads may be wired for extra support b4 burying in desiccant. Place flowers either on their sides or upright. To ensure the same drying time, dry similar flowers together. Do not let flowers touch or overlap one another
4.Using a cup, gently pour the silica gel crystal onto the flower petals. Make sure you place silica gel in between the petals, but take care to keep the shape of the flower intact
5.Silica gel dries flowers most effectively, because it dries them in 2-6 days retaining beautiful color and shape. This desiccant comes in white crystals. Using a toothpick to probe the petals and test for dryness
