Varieties:
- Tablets for Cats 60c: These "chewable" tablets are super hard so virtually no cats would eat them willingly. You'll have to crush them and add to your cat's food or use a pill pocket (check our store). One tablet per day for all cats.
- Soft Chews for Cats 120c: While still not a guarantee, your cat is far more likely to eat these soft chews (treats) than the hard tablets. We recommend 2 soft chews per day for cats up to 5kg or 4 per day for larger cats.
- Tablets for Dogs 60c: These are large chewable tablets that small dogs may have problems eating. Again, you can crush them first and add to your dog's food or use a pill pocket. One tablet per 30lb (15kg) daily.

VetriScience seldom copies other brand’s products but when it does, it’s usually for good reason.

Although some may think that the VetriScience Renal Essentials is based on the excellent Pet Wellbeing Kidney Support Gold (KSG, check our store), it’s actually more than that.

It’s not as simple as taking the plant-based ingredients from the KSG and putting them in chewable tablets (instead of liquid) with cordyceps added. Renal Essentials is so named because it also contains micronutrients essential to CKD pets:
- B vitamins and potassium because CKD causes a deficiency in those
- EPA/DHA are omega-3 fatty acids long associated with renal health (among others like skin/coat, joint, brain)
- DMG may prevent atrophy, inositol may support depressed mood, and so on.

Is it really as good as the Pet Wellbeing KSG?
The main active ingredients may not be as pure (and probably not as bioavailable) and one bottle won’t last nearly as long, but Renal Essentials is also packed with other micronutrients that a CKD cat or dog will need (see above).

- Harder acceptance, as some pets may refuse to eat
- Includes critical micronutrients like potassium, B-vitamins, omega-3s, and more
- More of a symptomatic patch, unproven in kidney function support/enhancement
