This book is designed for use as a reference for a first-year student or as a supplement to standard texts and can be used by electrical engineering students as well as other engineering and technology students. Emphasis is placed on the basic concept, rules, analysis, theorems, and problem-solving techniques which are common to most courses.

The subject matter is divided into 5 chapters covering all areas of theory and study. Every chapter begins with a theoretical explanation in the simplest manner which is easy to understand consists of definitions, principles, analysis and theorems together with illustrative examples. This is followed by sets of solved and supplementary problems. The problems cover a range of levels of difficulty according to Bloom Taxonomy Cognitive Domain. From Remembering (R), Understanding (U), Applying (A), Analyzing (Z), Evaluation (E) and Creation (C), all questions has been marked per the level.

Some problems focus on certain analyzing techniques, which helps the student to better apply the basic principles correctly and confidently. The supplementary problems are generally more numerous and allow students or readers to practice problem-solving skills. Answers are provided with a full explanation of each supplementary problem.

The book begins with the fundamental of electricity which includes the very basic definition in electric circuit theory such as an atom, voltage, current, resistance and others. Also, include the international system of unit. Follow with chapter two explaining the basic concept of the electric circuit. Branches, nodes and loops are introduced here with a connection of the circuit’s elements.

The three most basic and important laws in analyzing electrical circuits are Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law and Kirchhoff’s Current Law that will be covered in chapter four and chapter five. Here, basic circuit analysis will be done using those laws starting with two rules up to the need of star-delta transformation of a complex circuit.
