Parboiling happens when you soak , steam , and dry rice while it's still in its inedible outer husk . This turns the rice inside a slightly yellow hue . The process also improves the texture of the rice , making it fluffier , firmer and less sticky when you cook it than regular white rice and the process also enhances the nutritional value of the rice .

" BAS " in Hindi language means " aroma " and " MATHI " means " full of " , hence the word Basmathi ------- or " full of aroma "
