**Product of Italy**
Arborio rice is an Italian short-grain rice with a pearly appearance. It is named after the town of Arborio, in the Po Valley, which is situated in the main region of Piedmont in Italy. The grains are firm and creamy due to the high starch content of the rice. Thanks to its plumpness, as it is ideal for cooking risotto. The grains maintain their shape during cooking and are naturally gluten free.

Arborio rice is high in the starch, amylopectin. Upon cooking, this rice releases its natural starch, resulting in creamier, more luscious rice that is firmer and chewier when compared to regular rice such as long-grain basmati rice or jasmine rice. Of course, like all types of rice, arborio rice is 100% gluten-free.

Carnaroli is an Italian medium-grained rice grown in the Pavia, Novara and Vercelli provinces of northern Italy. Carnaroli is used for making risotto, differing from the more common arborio rice due to its higher starch content and firmer texture, as well as having a longer grain.
