Beras Etem or Black Etem Rice is a fragrant black medium grain cultivated traditionally by the indigenous people of Borneo highlands, the Lun Bawang in Ba'kalalan, Lawas, northeast highlands of Sarawak, Borneo. Cultivated in natural environment 1000m above sea level, the rice field is irrigated by the clean and unpolluted water from the mountain. Its signature black-purple colour exist naturally from a flavonoid known as anthocyanin, which is known to be high in anti-oxidants, nutrients and is able to reduce the level of free radicals in the body system. It is left unpolished to retain 100% of its nutrients and health values. Of those harvested, dedicated team from Antares Enterprise and Sarawak Specials selected the premium quality rice stocks, ensuring the rice is more flavorful, have a nutty taste and chewier after cooked.

Keep rice in an air-tight container. Avoid heat and moisture

👨‍🍳 Cooking Instruction 👩‍🍳
1. Wash and rinsed well
2. Soak 2-3 hours for a softer texture
3. Rest cooked rice 10-15 minutes before serving
Rice Cooker Method : Add 1½ cup of water for every cup of rice.
Steaming Method : Add 1¼ cup of water for every cup of rice
