From the humble beginnings of a housewife’s culinary adventures in a local Penang kitchen, Sunflower Traditional Homemade Cakes has grown into a thriving business that expands to the far reaches of peninsular Malaysia.
In the mid-90s, Madam Wang How Wah found joy in creating layer cakes for her friends and relatives at her local neighbourhood of Tanjung Bungah, on Penang Island. They were immediately addicted to the delicious flavours of her homemade labour of love. Throughout these times, she experimented with several flavours, ingredients and recipes while constantly collecting feedback, reviews and concerns from her loyal customers. From this research and analysis, it was found that the best seller was the Indonesian Layer Cake, which has now become the signature layer cake of Sunflower.
In 1996, Madam Wang decided to take a leap and step outside her comfort zone after carefully establishing how she can maintain strict quality control over Sunflower’s layer cakes. Before long, the first Sunflower layer cake shop opened to great fanfare and jubilation in Tanjung Bungah. Sunflower has the reputation of being a pioneer in the layer cake revolution in Malaysia that has kept Malaysians craving for over 2 decades!
So, what is it about Sunflower’s layer cakes that makes you surrender all your defenses? From the onset, Sunflower has always prioritised quality over quantity. Sunflower cakes are lovingly made from 100% pure imported butter combined with only the best and finest ingredients available, a carefully blended concoction of 10 spices, baked by passionate connoisseurs who treat baking as an art form. Their mission in life is to light up lives(and taste buds) with a slice of blissful perfection in Sunflower’s layer cake. The meticulous process of creating an insatiable layer cake was crafted from endless years of trial and error that resulted in an experience that is sinfully delicious, but with no accountability due to low sugar content and no artificial preservatives!

CARE INSTRUCTION
The product may be stored:
Freezer: up to 30 days
Refrigerator: up to 14 days
Room temperature: up to 4 days

If the cake is in a frozen condition, please allow it to thaw at room temperature for up to 2 hours before consumption. After thawing, the cake will expire within 4 days.
Once the cake has been thawed, do not re-freeze.
