原来，这姑娘是一只白狗子精，看到张良善良老实，日子过得蛮苦，来帮他烧火。张良说：“做人该多好，干嘛要变狗子?你若不嫌我，就给我做媳妇吧!”
那姑娘一笑，说：“跟你可以，但你要把皮子给我。”
张良担心她跑了，坚决不把皮子给她。姑娘说：“我穿得单薄，没得皮子，不冷?”张良一想也是，就剪下一块皮子，给姑娘围在腰间，把剩下的皮子丢到灶里烧了。
从此，张良在外头耕地，姑娘在屋里烧饭，小日子过得甜甜蜜蜜的。
大家都羡慕他俩，也学着他俩，女人烧火做饭，胸前总要系个白围裙。慢慢地成了一个习俗。
