Niko Neko - Sumire / Exotic Chashaku Bamboo Scoop

[ Artisan Chashaku Bamboo Scoop ]
SUMIRE is exclusively made from an Exotic Purple Bamboo, a rare species of bamboo with beautiful dark purplish brown shades which creates a unique natural pattern on each of our scoops.

Recommended to be used together with ASAGAO / Exotic Chasen Bamboo Whisk.


[ Special Features of SUMIRE / Scoop ]
1. One-of-a-kind
Each piece of our SUMIRE / Bamboo Scoop embodies its own pattern and shades of a different part of exotic purple bamboo. Hence, every scoop will have a unique natural pattern.

2. Handcrafted to perfection
Handcrafted piece-by-piece by craftsman with decades of experience and extreme precision in mind, it is perfected with our exclusive Niko Neko logo carefully laser-engraved.

3. Equal amount of Matcha powder in each scoop
A scoop of SUMIRE / Scoop is equivalent to 0.5g of Matcha powder.
To ensure you’re scooping the same amount of Matcha powder each time, use SUMIRE / Scoop for preparing Matcha.


[ How To Use ]
A scoop of SUMIRE / Scoop is equivalent to 0.5g of matcha powder.

For matcha tea preparation, use 2 scoops of SUMIRE, mixed with half cup of warm water (around 85C) and whisk vigorously with our ASAGAO / Chasen Whisk till creamy foam appears.

Recommended to be used together with ASAGAO / Chasen (Bamboo Whisk).


[ Recipes ]
1. Hot Matcha Tea (usucha) – 100 mL
Whisk ingredients below with ASAGAO / Chasen Whisk until frothy, smooth and no visible clumps:
a. Warm Water (Temp – 85c) – 100 mL
b. REN / Matcha Powder – 1.5 g or 1.5 teaspoon / 2 scoops of SUMIRE / Chashaku

2. Iced Matcha Tea – 150ML
Mix ingredients below with ASAGAO / Chasen Whisk until smooth and no visible clumps:
a. Room Temp. Water – 50 mL
b. REN / Matcha Powder – 2 g or 1 teaspoon / 2 scoops of SUMIRE / Chashaku
Pour the mixture above into 100 mL of room temp water and mix gently again. Add ice.
