How it Works Squalene naturally occurs in human sebum and helps in the protection and lubrication of the skin. Through hydrogenation, naturally occurring Squalene is turned into a much more stable form of moisturizer, called Squalane. Our Squalane is sourced naturally from olives and helps improve skin elasticity and radiance.

Application Apply 2-3 drops to fingertips and smooth onto cleansed skin morning or night. Can be added to your favorite creams and conditioners, and works especially well with our Hyaluronic Acid Serum!

Olives: During olive oil processing, squalene is extracted from the olive pulp, skin and pits, and then combined with hydrogen to become squalane.

Sugarcane: Rather than being extracted directly from the sugarcane itself, squalane is produced by bioengineered yeast that feed on the sugarcane. (Not quite as sexy or "natural," right?)

One is a part of the other. Squalane is derived from squalene. Squalane is the more stable form of this molecule Squalane was originally obtained from shark livers and sometimes it still is. The fish-friendly alternative is squalane made from olives.
