YSP HOMECARE LACTUL SOLUTION ( 100ML / 500ML )

CONTENTS:
Each ml contains:
Lactulose: 670mg
Sodium Benzoate (as preservative): 1mg (0.1%)

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
» ADULTS: 15-30ml daily by mouth in a single dose or in 2 divided doses and gradually reduced accordingly to the patient's needs.
» MAINTENANCE: 10-15ml daily.
» CHILDREN 6-12 years: 20ml daily.
» CHILDREN 1-5 years: 10ml daily.
» INFANT <1 year: 5ml daily.

INSTRUCTIONS:
» The daily dosage should be adapted on individual basis.
» The dosage should preferably be taken in one time during breakfast.
» Onset of the clinical effect may take a couple of days.
» Higher dosages can be considered if a positive response has not occurred after the first 2 days.
» May be taken with meals to reduce GI discomfort.

DURATION OF USE:
» Dosage can be decreased after a couple of days to serve patients' needs.

PRECAUTIONS:
» Lactulose contains galactose and lactose, it should be used with caution in diabetes
» Since Lactulose contains Lactose, it should be used with caution in patients with lactose intolerance
» Use of Lactulose during pregnancy requires that the potential benefits be weighed against the potential risks
» It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk
» Caution should be exercised when it is administered to a nursing woman

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
» Flatulence may occur during the first few days of treatment
» Belly ache and diarrhoea may occur at higher dosage

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
