Vaginal infections are very common – it’s estimated that 75% of women have had at least one at some point in their lives. They occur when infectious bacteria, viruses or fungi grow in or around the vagina. It may cause redness, swelling, irritation or even pain, abnormal vaginal discharge & odour.

Bacterial infections are the most common cause, accounting for up to 50% of the cases. They happen when there are changes in the types & amounts of bacteria normally found in the vagina. The next most common cause would most probably be fungal infections such as Candida Albicans, which are often called vaginal yeast infections.

BETADINE® Feminine Wash with Douching Apparatus (contains povidone-iodine 10% w/v) is a rinse-off formula for cleansing & treatment of vaginitis due to fungi, protozoa, bacteria or a combination of bacteria. It is meant for intravaginal use.

HOW TO USE:
A. FOR TREATMENT
1. Pour 30ml BETADINE ® Vaginal Douche into the squeezable syringe bottle.
2. Add lukewarm water up to the WATER FILL LINE to give a total volume of 250ml.
3. Attach nozzle to douche bottle & shake gently to mix, holding the bottle straight until ready to use.
4. Gently insert the applicator as far as possible into the vagina & press the bottle, until the solution is used up.
5. Wipe any dry excess liquid around the vagina.
6. Clean the bottle & applicator for re-use later.
7. FOR VAGINITIS, use twice daily (throughout the menstrual cycle including the days of menstruation) UNTIL RECOVERS.
8. FOR MINOR TREATMENT OF VAGINAL SYMPTOMS (e.g. itchiness & sores), use DAILY FOR 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.

B. FOR PREVENTION & PERSONAL HYGIENE
1. Pour 15ml BETADINE ® Vaginal Douche into the squeezable syringe bottle.
2. Add lukewarm water up to the WATER FILL LINE to give a total volume of 250ml.
3. Attach nozzle to douche bottle & shake gently to mix, holding the bottle straight until ready to use.
4. Gently insert the applicator as far as possible into the vagina & press the bottle, until the solution is used up.
5. Wipe any dry excess liquid around the vagina.
6. Clean the bottle & applicator for re-use later.
7. Use twice weekly or as required.

** THE PRODUCT IS SPERMICIDAL & SHOULD NOT BE USED WHEN CONCEPTION IS DESIRED
