BETADINE® Feminine Wash with Douching Apparatus (contains povidone-iodine 10% w/v) is a rinse-off formula for cleansing and treatment of vaginitis due to fungi, protozoa, bacteria or a combination of bacteria. For intravaginal use.

+ Effective Povidone-Iodine based medicated cleansing solution for treatment of vaginitis due to Candida, Trichomonas, bacterial non-specific or mixed infections and for cleansing purposes.
+ Designed exclusively for feminine hygiene needs
+ Stay clean, fresh and protected with complete range of feminine care products.

Directions:
1) Mix 30ml of BETADINE ® Vaginal Douche with 250ml of lukewarm water
2) Gently insert the applicator as far as possible into the vagina and press the bottle, until the solution is used up. Wipe dry excess liquid around vagina. Clean the bottle and applicator for re-use later
*For vaginitis, use twice daily (throughout the menstrual cycle including the days of menstruation) until recovers.
*For minor treatment of vaginal symptoms (e.g. itches and sores), use daily for five consecutive days.
*For prevention and vaginal hygiene, mix 15ml of BETADINE ® Feminine Wash (contains Povidone-iodine 10%w/v) with 250ml of lukewarm water in the provided bottle, and follow step 2. Use twice a week.

Storage:
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

What are the Dos and Don'ts to manage vagina odour?
+ Do:
a) Identify the cause – suspect infection by looking out for vaginal symptoms such as discharge with abnormal colour or amount.
b) Check for foreign objects like tampons or condoms after intimate sessions.
c) Wear cotton undergarments to encourage airflow and allow your vaginal area to breathe.

+ Don’t:
Use fragrant body washes and soaps as it can disrupt the pH balance of your vagina.

What is vaginitis and what are the symptoms?
A vaginal infection (your doctor may call it bacteria vaginitis, yeast vaginitis, trichomoniasis vaginitis) is an infection that results in minor inflammation and other symptoms in and around your vagina. It may cause redness, swelling, irritation or even pain, abnormal vaginal discharge and odour. In some cases, when left untreated, this can result in serious complications.

It’s estimated that 75% of women have had at least one at some point in their lives. They occur when infectious bacteria, viruses or fungi grow in or around the vagina. Bacterial infections are the most common cause, accounting for up to 50% of the cases. They happen when there are changes in the types and amounts of bacteria normally found in the vagina. Fungal infections like candida albicans are probably the next most common cause. Fungal infections are often called vaginal yeast infections.

Other possible causes:
a) Tight nylon underwear that doesn’t provide good ventilation, resulting in perspiration and lack of air circulation
b) Use of contraceptives
c) Use of broad-spectrum antibiotics for the treatment of other infections
d) Use of vaginal deodorants
e) Lack of personal hygiene
