What is Black Seed?


Black seed is also known as Black Cumin. The scientific name is Nigella Sativa Black Seed is used for multiple purpose to cure diseases like cancer, and it also is used to maintain health.


Black seed also known as Habbatus Sauda by our locals is used for multiple purpose to maintain good health. It is considered as Makanan Sunnah by the Muslim community. The holy prophet Muhammed stated in his Hadith (teachings) ‘Hold on to the use of the black seed for it has a remedy for every illness except death’. The research on its multiple health goodness is pretty extensive, primarily in the areas of cardiovascular health, inflammation, diabetes, fatty liver, obesity, kidney diseases, lungs protection, arthritis and skin protection. Black Seed is an anti-oxidant and up-regulates the antioxidant enzyme such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)and molecules such as glutathione (GSH). Black Seed is also an anti-inflammatory and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines. It also modulates the immune system by increasing the macrophage population and stimulates the activity of these macrophages to engulf the foreign pathogens.

- Antioxidant - Up-regulates Antioxidant Enzyme such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), and molecules, such as glutathione (GSH). Protects against oxidative stress.
