Piano Sound
The grand piano sounds in the AP-460 deliver an unprecedented level of realism and expression. Utilizing Casio’s proprietary AiR sound source, four dynamic levels of stereo piano samples are integrated with Casio’s proprietary Linear Morphing System, for a grand piano sound with seamless transitions and a superior dynamic range. For added realism, the AP-460 simulates the sound of open strings when the dampers are raised by the pedal using Acoustic Resonance DSP. To further enhance the playing experience, the Hall Simulator provides simulations of the acoustics of real-world locations allowing you to experience playing the grand piano sound in a variety of virtual locations.
Ebony and Ivory Textured Keys
The AP-460 features Casio’s 88 note Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action II keyboard. This action is scaled to match the weight and resistance across the range of an 88 note grand piano. In addition, this action features simulated Ebony and Ivory textured keys for an incredible feel. Capturing your performance, Casio’s key action has three sensors to capture the dynamics of a performance with unparalleled speed and accuracy. To further enhance the experience, Casio’s Hammer Response feature takes into consideration the speed at which different sized hammers move inside acoustic grand relative to velocity the keys are pressed, this timing nuance provides the ultimate key to sound experience.
Concert Play
High-quality audio recordings of 10 live philharmonic orchestra performances are installed. Pianists can play along with recordings and enjoy the feeling of participating in a magnificent concert performance. Musical scores of the music are also included. In addition to Concert Play, the AP-460 It has a built-in library of 60 piano songs that can be practiced at any tempo. Lesson features allow you to learn left and right hand parts separately.
Advanced Technology
To complete the piano experience, the AP-460 features 256 notes of polyphony, enough horsepower to the most demanding musical passages and the ability to layer sounds and use the damper pedal without worry of dropped notes. In addition to the concert grand piano sounds, the AP-450 has new instrument tones include stereo string ensembles, basses and electric pianos derived from Casio’s award winning PX-5S. Split and layer capability allowing you to play bass in your left hand and have two layered tones in your right. Duet mode splits the keyboard into two equal ranges, allowing student and teacher to use the piano simultaneously. A USB port allows you to record and playback audio .wav files, so you can easily share your performance. In addition the AP-460 can connect effortlessly to your computer via USB without the need to install drivers.

Casio’s new AiR technology, redefines the Celviano digital piano experience with richer and more genuine sounds. The AiR sound source enables the new Celviano models to deliver first-class realism and detail by providing damper resonance, which enhances the sounds of the dampers lifting off the strings when pushing on the sustain petal. Casio’s AiR technology also compensates for the speed at which hammers strike strings at different velocities and key ranges, imperative for those who crave the authentic sounds and feel of a traditional grand piano.
USB MIDI
Casio continues the tradition or providing “class compliant” USB connectivity on Celviano digital pianos. This allows Celviano to be used with Mac or Windows computers without the need for downloading drivers. Class Compliant USB MIDI also allows Celviano digital pianos to be used as a controller for the Apple iPad by using Apple’s Camera Connection Kit.
