The Resistance: Avalon pits the forces of Good and Evil in a battle to control the future of civilization. Arthur represents the future of Britain, a promise of prosperity and honor, yet hidden among his brave warriors are Mordred’s unscrupulous minions. These forces of evil are few in number but have knowledge of each other and remain hidden from all but one of Arthur’s servants. Merlin alone knows the agents of evil, but he must speak of this only in riddles. If his true identity is discovered, all will be lost.

The Resistance: Avalon is a standalone game, and while The Resistance is not required to play, the games are compatible and can be combined.

The Resistance: Avalon is a game of hidden loyalty. Players are either Loyal Servants of Arthur fighting for Goodness and honor or aligned with the Evil ways of Mordred. Good wins the game by successfully completing three Quests. Evil wins if three Quests end in failure. Evil can also win by assassinating Merlin at game’s end or if a Quest cannot be undertaken. Players may make any claims during the game, at any point in the game. Discussion, deception, accusation, and logical deduction are all equally important in order for Good to prevail or Evil to rule the day

Not for light hearted people..... unless you have a friend you really want to mess with! Love how nobody gets eliminated from the game and it always keeps everyone involved and thinking. “I love these hidden role games! You can play with simple "good" guys and "bad" guys or you can mix things up with special characters like Merlin, the Assassin, Morgana, Percival, etc. based on the number and skill level of the players. Unlike Werewolf, you don't have players eliminated, so everyone gets to play the whole length of the game, with plenty of opportunities for lying, misdirection and treachery. If you don't like those things, this may not be the game for you, but if you do, come on in!”

“My son is a fan of games and was a hosting a multi-day birthday party for fellows ranging from 17 to 20. I picked up this game on the recommendation of some website (sadly, can't remember which, or I'd give credit) as a fun game for large groups of people, particularly because it does not eliminate players. You don't have somebody sitting there bored while others wrap the game. They played it on the second night. I came back with take-out pizza to hear 10 kids fiercely debating the aftermath of the game, and who had done what, in a conversation that continued intermittently for their whole stay. There were a lot of other games on hand, but this was the hit of the party.”
