Why colon health is important?

The colon (bowel or large intestine) is the last five feet of our digestive tract and functions to absorb water allowing stool to form for evacuation. A healthy colon will rid your body of fecal matters that the body does not need. These fecal matters or stool are waste products of digestion and contain various kinds of bacteria to be eliminated from the body. When food waste and toxins remain in the colon longer than it should, this can negatively impact our health and well-being. Maintaining a healthy colon is therefore the key to a healthy body.

Key Ingredients and functions

Ø Plant Fibers A unique blend of soluble and insoluble fiber from apple pectin, fruits, vegetables, wheat, oat and oil palm trunk helps facilitate the body’s detoxification process by binding toxins in the digestive system and transporting them out of body. Insoluble fiber can absorb large amount of water in the bowels, making stools softer and easier to pass through. Soluble fiber helps lower LDL (“bad”) blood cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar.

Ø Oligosaccharide (Prebiotics) A healthy colon should contain at least 85% friendly bacteria to prevent the over colonization of microorganisms like E. coli and salmonella. Inulin (Oligosaccharide) is a type of prebiotics that helps stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in the gut to maintain a healthy intestinal tract and to help fight illnesses and diseases.

Ø Spirulina (Alkaline Food) Spirulina is a type of single-celled blue-green algae that contains the most complete source of nutrients found in any single food. It is the world's richest source of chlorophyll, which is very effective in the breakdown and elimination of toxins and heavy metals.

Ø Cordyceps Cordyceps helps promote metabolism and improve digestion of the body by increasing bowel movement. It is ideal for those with poor bowel movement or constipation. Besides that, Cordyceps has been shown to prevent obesity through inhibitory effect of Cordycepin on the differentiation of fibroblasts into adipocytes.
