Ans : Fully synthetic oil has stronger molecular structure, which gives the oil higher temperature tolerance, stronger oil film, and durability over semi synthetic / mineral oils. Therefore fully synthetic oil can last 10,000 - 15,000km of mileage under normal driving conditions. 2. My car is quite old, is my car suitable to use fully synthetic oil? Yes. In fact, no engines should use semi synthetic or mineral oils. All engines should use fully synthetic oil unless you are really on super tight budget. 3. Why is people saying "Your car is old, you should use semi synthetic oil or mineral oil"? That is because in Malaysia, most of the engine oils are in these viscosities: 0w - 5w: fully synthetic 10w - 15w: semi synthetic 15w - 20w: mineral These viscosities are so common in the market, and consumers have already accepted that - If you want thicker oil (higher viscosity), you can only choose semi / mineral oils because there's not much choice for you to choose. The fact is, viscosity and grade are 2 different things. So why not use FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL WITH HIGHER VISCOSITY which provides all the goodness to your engine for long run? 4. I tried on some oils, in the beginning, the engine feels good but after 3,000km, my car feels sluggish. Why is that? The temperature in the engine is very high. Some oils are not meant to withstand high temperature over a long period of time. When you first change the oil, the oil works as what it was designed for but over some time, the oil properties start to break down, causing the oil to start losing its lubrication and becoming more watery. When the oil breaks down, you feel the car getting sluggish, heavier acceleration, higher cost on petrol and louder engine noise due to there's not enough lubrication from the oil. At this point of time, expert users will change their oil but most of them will just keep using until next service interval, the engine lifespan is severely affected. 6. My car has problem with "missing oil". Can I use your oil? "Missing oil" problem is a sign of old engine and it's very normal. Once your engine has this problem, it will always have this problem until a major service such as head service / engine overhauling is done but choosing the right oil can help to minimize this problem. You can use our oil, go for 15W40 or 20w50, depending on how serious the problem is. We recommend 15w40.
