Scientific Name：Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge

English Name：Dan-shen，red sage root.

Family & Genus：Lamiaceae（Labiatae），Salvia.

Pharmacology：Cardiovascular-disease-improving，platelet-coagulation-inhibiting & anti-tumors，anti-hepatic injuries，antioxidative.

Properties：Bitter taste. Slightly cold in nature. 

Benefits：Cooling blood，eliminate carbuncle，promote blood circulation & dispelle blood stasis，nourish blood & calm mental state，regulate menstruation & stop pain，expell pus & promote granulation.

Indications：

·Traumatic injury

·Dysphoria & insomnia

·Heat in blood circulation

·Dysphoria & restlessness

·Irregular menstrual period

·Anthracia & swelling toxicity

·Amenorrhea & painful periods

·Pyretic arthralgia & swelling pain

·Abdominal mass & food accumulation

·Postpartum abdominal pain due to blood stasis

*Noted：Prohibited for women with hypermenorrhea and no blood stasis, should be used with caution for pregnant women. 


Preparation：

·1 sachets tea bag each time. One or twice daily. 

·Steep a tea bag in 200ml boiled water for 10 minutes. 

·Each tea bag may rebrewed 2-3 times，or until light taste.

性味：味苦；性微寒。

功能：凉血，消痈，活血祛瘀，养血安神，调经止痛，排脓生肌。

·痈疮肿毒

·热入营血

·烦躁不安

·心烦失眠

·妇女月经不调

·产后瘀滞腹痛

*注：妇女月经过多及无瘀血者禁服，孕妇慎用。


用法：

·每次一包茶袋，每日1包～2包。

·将茶袋浸泡于200毫升沸水，10分钟后即可饮用。

·每个茶袋可重复冲泡2-3次，或直至淡味为止。
